The space

The villa is in the middle of the forest, fronting a beautiful beach and a stone throw away from the world famous Palawan Subterranean River. A place for families, friends, lovers, adventurous people and those who prefer the quietness of nature. The villa can house about 12 people and 2 babies (cribs are at your disposal upon request) in 3 large air conditioned rooms with kingsize beds, a single room and an attic with 5 beds for groups or kids. We also welcome pets in our villa. On top of the hill is a fresh water infinity pool (with occasional natural floor sediments) with great views of the beach. A beautiful place to wait for the sunset. It is surrounded by trees with friendly monkeys hanging on it. Fruits like mangoes, santol, calamansi, wild mangosteen and cashew are available in different seasons. Two fish ponds, full of tilapias for bamboo rod fishing, are located near the garden. The beach is also rich with shells and fish. The sound of the singing bird is heard everywhere in the villa with some rare birds flying around the house. Some lucky goers were welcomed by dolphins and turtles! This is a place where turtles lay hundreds of eggs each year and safely return to the sea. Most importantly, it has a wide and calm beach with a fine sand!

On site activities : darts, volley ball and badmington near the coconut trees, snorkeling on a nearby reef (equipment provided), pétanque, watching turtles laying eggs at night during the season, surfing (we have 2 surfboards at your disposal), practicing yoga on 2 dedicated mattresses or just relaxing on the terrace while sipping an ice cold drink or a fresh coconut (courtesy of the house).

Nearby activities : boat tour to visit the famous UNESCO protected Underground River national park, trek in the forest, ziplining above the sea in Sabang (700 m long), tour of a centuries old mangrove, hike to a nearby village lost in the forest by the beach, caving in limestone cliffs, sea fishing at night, waterfall showering, etc.

The villa, 80 m away from the sea, a relaxing gazebo and the beach shower, has a large kitchen with a view on nearby rice terraces and is powered by solar panels during daytime and by a silent generator at night (from 8 PM till 7 AM). Lots of society games are available as well as a wide selection of DVDs (no TV channels) and English and French books. Kids are welcome and a baby chair is available.

And for those who can’t live without phone and internet, network is available in the villa via Starlink 😉

English and Tagalog spoken. On parle français.

What this place offers

Where you’ll be

City of Puerto Princesa (Capital), MIMAROPA, Philippines

Our villa is located in a very quiet environment. Our nearest neighbour is a family of farmer/fisherman living in a bamboo house 300 m away. The beach is 800 m long and its fine sand abounds with beautiful shells. The adjacent forest is full of birds and monkeys. Fruit trees (depending on the season mango, mangoosteen, coconut, calamansi, pomelo, etc) and flowers are well taken care of and the hill is full of cashew trees loaded with irresistable fruits in April and May.
Marufinas is the nearest village: located in the lush forest but a stone throw away from the sea, a good 45 mins hike will bring you to its littlest huts and friendly inhabitants.
The larger village of Sabang is 25 mins away by banca from our beach: starting points of many activities, it is also home to two very good international standard restaurants as well as to little sari sari stores where soft drinks and basic groceries can be found

Getting around

Turtlebay Villa is only reachable by banca (local boat). Arrival and departure van (from Puerto Princesa airport/hotel with an optional stop at Puerto Princesa supermarket for food supplies) and in and out banca transportation from Sabang pier (weather permitting) can be arranged upon request. Rooms are cleaned daily. Laundry service is also available upon request.
